Yeast infection can occur in any part of the body such as underarms, between toes, etc. in both men and women. In women yeast infection is very common in vagina, so common that 75% of women have it at some time in their lives. Yeast infection is not serious disease but it is very uncomfortable.

Symptoms of Yeast Infection

  1. Itching and burning in the vagina.
  2. Swelling, itching, and burning around the vulva (the skin that surrounds your vagina).
  3. A white thick vaginal discharge that is mostly odorless.
  4. Pain during sexual intercourse.
  5. Soreness & rash on outer lips of the vagina.
  6. Burning during urination.

Home remedies for Yeast Infection

  1. Regularly daubing apple cider vinegar in the areas prone to this infection. Your can add some garlic to stop the itchy feeling; and water to dilute the vinegar concentration.
  2. Drink at least two glasses of buttermilk in a day, whether infected or not. In fact making curds a part of the daily diet in take reduces the probability of yeast infection.
  3. Mixture of olive leaf extract with grapefruit seed extraction a glass of water is a good curative tonic for this infection.
  4. A few drops of tea tree oil poured on a tampon and inserted in the vagina can provide some relief.
  5. For non-vaginal yeast infections, you can apply garlic paste directly on the affected parts. This remedy is for other affected parts of the body and not for the vaginal yeast infection.
  6. Relieve itching with a cold water compress or cool baths.
  7. Wear cotton and avoid tight-fitting clothing. Avoid tight jeans.
  8. Eat a balanced diet, which will help keep your body healthy and help maintain a normal balance of organisms in the vagina.
  9. Add 1 Tbsp of Apple Cider Vinegar in 2 cups of water and put 1 garlic clove in it. Let it stand for some time and use this for douching.
  10. Insert 1 or 2 capsules of boric acid into the vagina and keep it there overnight for several nights. For some women the boric acid may cause burning and discomfort for the first few days.
  11. Dissolve 1 Tbsp of potassium sorbate in 1 cup water. Insert a tampon into the vagina and pour this solution inside to be absorbed by the tampon. Keep it there overnight. Repeat this for several nights.
  12. For other parts of the Body - Apply fresh garlic paste directly on the affected part of the body.
